Cooks Creek Conservation District Priorities

The main responsibility of the Cooks Creek Conservation District is surface water management for agricultural operations.

The clay soils of the area are fertile and productive for agriculture, but with little relief, are prone to flooding from heavy rains during the growing season.  The main approach to managing this resource is to upgrade the drainage network in the District.
